Judgment Day 2015 is hereby declaring an open call for work submissions. The works can be submitted from 6th of January to 5th of May until midnight, but first you have to LOGIN or REGISTER. First submission is always FREE.
GRAND IDEA – (something NEW, big & innovative in fields of advertising, publishing and entertainment)
You’re not interested in sure shot solutions? You like reinventing and bettering the wheel? Excellent. This category is ideal for your work submission, your grand idea, a new way of creative communication, revolutionary solutions for advertising, basically concepts bordering on invention! Think od Facebook, Tetris, iPhone, Napster, Old Spice video commercials, Twitter, T-Shirt… but be aware that the concept itself is more important than the design.
COPYWRITING – (in fields of advertising, publishing and entertainment)
You are a copywriter and you are constantly creating, thinking, overthinking and developing new ideas and creative concepts in your studio or agency? Here you can submit your solutions for print ads, posters, TV commercials, radio commercials, promo movies, titles/headlines, slogans, product/service names, self promotion, means of direct communication and publications or implementing new media.
ILLUSTRATION – (in fields of advertising, publishing and entertainment)
Creativity play a huge role in this category. You can submit an illustration (or series of illustrations) created in any traditional or digital 2D/3D technique published in any media.
DESIGN: LOGO/VISUAL IDENTITY – (for companies, nonprofit organizations, personal…)
Your submitted design work has to show a unifying communication of brands, set of graphic styles and visual recognisability.
DESIGN: PRINT – (advertising, publishing, promo materials…)
Your submitted work has to fulfill standards of usage of various creative methods combining words, symbols and images to create a visual representation of ideas and messages. This may include print advertisements, book covers, posters, billboards and so on.
DESIGN: PACKAGING (product packaging, packaging of promo materials…)
Your submitted design of a product package may include a logo or other artwork, organized text or pure design elements such as images, shapes and color which unify the design.
DESIGN: WEB – (websites, banners and various online content)
Web design is the process of creating websites. Your submitted work has to encompass several different aspects including webpage layout, content production, graphic design and a number of important elements including color, layout and overall graphical appearance.
DESIGN: MOBILE APPS – (games, lifestyle, sports…)
Mobile applications are computer programs designed to run on smartphones, tablet computers and other mobile devices. The term “app” is a shortening of the term “application software”. It has become very popular and in 2010 was listed as “Word of the Year” by the American Dialect Society. Let’s see how popular is this category! Submit your work and find out.
CONCEPT ARTIST/DESIGN – (in fields of advertising, publishing and entertainment)
Your submitted work has to be a form of art/design used to convey an idea for (but not limited to) film, video games, animation, retail, fashion, architectural and industrial design or comic books before it is used in the final version of the product. It can also include storytelling through storyboards and similar.
3D – (architecture, 3D games , movies, TV commercials, visualization of physical products)
In 3D computer graphics 3D modeling is the process of developing a mathematical representation of any three-dimensional surface of an object (either inanimate or living) via specialized software. The product is called a 3D model which can also have textures and lightning applied to it. It can be displayed as a two-dimensional image through a process called 3D rendering or used in a computer simulation of physical phenomena. The model can also be physically created using 3D printing devices.
PHOTOGRAPHY – (in fields of advertising, publishing and entertainment)
Within this category you can submit photography work created using a traditional or digital technique. Photos published in any media. The purpose of these photographs must be promoting a certain product, service, event and so on.
VFX – (compositing, matchmoving, motion graphics, scripting, videoediting…)
Your submitted work of visual effects (abbreviated VFX) has to show imagery created and/or manipulated outside the context of a live action shot. Visual effects involve the integration of live-action footage and generated imagery to create environments which look realistic, but would be dangerous, expensive, impractical, or simply impossible to capture on film.
ANIMATION – (recorded material in 2D/3D animation)
Animation is the process of creating motion and shape change illusion by means of the rapid display of a sequence of static images that minimally differ from each other. Your submitted work of animation can be created digitally (2D/3D) or by using traditional techniques (stop motion and other).
VIDEO DIRECTING – (TV commercials, cinematics for games, music videos, promo films…)
Video direction of short formats is more than just shooting a 30 sec or few minutes movies! Successfully directing and editing a short project takes some serious pre-visualisation and planning. In some ways it is the most sublime form of filmmaking, and it is not surprising that some of the most successful film directors started with TV commercials (eg. Ridley Scott).
ACTOR/ACTRESS – (TV commercials, live events, radio commercials)
Submitted work has to be a recorded work of an actor or actress, which is a person in a storytelling medium who tells the story by portraying a character and, usually, speaking or singing the written text or play.
MUSIC AND SOUND – (music or sound effects for TV commercials, radio commercials, video games and movies)
Usually musicians are awarded for creating music in various music genres but not for the purpose of creating. You have created music and/or sound effects for commercials, video games and movies? Great! This is a category you should submit your work to.
NEWCOMER* – (special recognition)
*Special “Newcomer” recognitions goes to those students who have reached highest rank in all professional categories. The only requirement is that the submitted work must be created during schooling, in the period from 18th of March 2014 to 30th April 2015. To avoid any misunderstandings the submitted work can be created for a client, as a seminar assignment or it can be self-initiated.
THE BEST OF UNPUBLISHED* – (special recognition)
*Special “The best of unpublished” recognitions goes to those creatives who have submitted unpublished, rejected and all together works that haven’t seen the light of day! Until now.
